Various types of insulation materials are used in transformer for different purposes—

1. Varnish on winding wires
2. Butter paper inter layer insulation
3. Leatheroid paper for interlayer and inter winding insulation
4. Spacers if plastics, rubber or wood between winding sections in power transformers
5. Spacers , insulation paper (Leatheroid) between windings and core
6. Permali wood between windinds and cores and between core and tank.
7. Varnish on core laminations
8. Bushings of ceramic/ porcelain
