What is Insulating Material, Electrical Material?

The insulating material is also called the dielectric. Generally speaking, insulating material is the material that can prevent the current through in it, that is, non conductive material.
Commonly used insulation materials are: 1. gas: such as air, six sulphur fluoride, etc. 2. liquid: such as transformer oil, cable oil, capacitor oil, etc.
Solid materials include two categories: 1. inorganic insulating materials, such as mica, asbestos, electric porcelain, glass, etc. 2. organic matter, such as paper, cotton yarn, wood, plastic and so on.
