The Requirements for Silicon Steel Performance
Silicon steel sheet is a very low-carbon ferrosilicon soft magnetic alloy, generally containing 0.5% to 4.5% silicon. Adding silicon can increase the resistivity and maximum permeability of iron, and reduce the coercive force, core loss (iron loss) and magnetic aging. It is mainly used to make iron cores for various transformers, motors and generators. The world silicon steel output accounts for about 1% of the total steel.
The requirements for silicon steel performance are mainly:
1 Low iron loss, which is the most important indicator of the quality of silicon steel sheet. All countries are classified according to the iron loss value, the lower the iron loss, the higher the brand.
2 Magnetic induction (magnetic induction) is strong under strong magnetic fields, which reduces the volume and weight of the iron core of motors and transformers, and saves silicon steel sheets, copper wires, and insulating materials.
3 The surface is smooth, flat and uniform in thickness, which can increase the filling factor of the iron core.
4 The punching property is good and it is more important for the manufacture of miniature and small motors.
5 The surface insulation film has good adhesion and weldability, and can prevent corrosion and improve punching property.
6 basically no magnetic aging.
